A PhD day organized by Chalmers Initiative for Innovation and Sustainability Transitions (CIIST) took place on the 16th of March 2017 at the Chalmers House in Gothenburg. The event gathered researchers from Energy and Environment department, Shipping and Marine Technology department of Chalmers Institute of Technology and Strategic Sustainable Development department of Blekinge Institute of Technology.
The day started off with the definition of the common ground, which was suggested to be the map of the key authors and contributions (Markard, Raven, and Truffer 2012):
Two PhD presentations and two post-doc presentations in the field of transitions towards sustainability provided an understanding of the current projects at Chalmers and gave a floor for further discussion. In order to include everyone into the work of CIIST, every PhD student pitched their project in 2 minutes with the visualization in 1 slide without words. For example, Varvara’s project has been portrayed in the following way:
Relevant discussions in the area of transition studies were followed by the discussion of the future plans and immediate steps for the development of the CIIST society as a whole and PhD group in particular.
