Digital seminar 3 June 10.00: What effect will increased investments in cycling, walking, public transport have on road traffic? On transfer effects and route choices in the long-term planning of the transport system.

The Swedish Transport Administration’s focus material for long-term infrastructure planning was criticized for not prioritizing investments in walking, cycling and public transport over individual driving.
At the same time, the Swedish Transport Administration writes that the transfer effects are usually relatively small and that “the majority of the increase usually [consists] of newly generated transports, not of transfer from other modes of transport.”
The authority will now hold a dialogue on the next national plan for the transport system. Ahead of this, Samhällsbyggarna invites to a digital seminar on the central issue of transfer effects – today and in the future.
