Project Description

The Sustaintrans team with Sven Borén as the project manager achieved in September 2021, together with partners in Viimsi (Estonia) and Klaipeda (Lithuania), seed funding from the Swedish Institute for a 1-year project “Seeds for sustainable mobility planning and infrastructure” (SESUMOPLIN). This small project aimed to conduct a pilot study analyzing, assessing, and comparing the relevant experiences of the partners in the field of mobility planning and infrastructure; identifying major bottlenecks and based on that, prepare an application to be applied for additional funding from external sources, such as INTERREG, Horizon or Digital Europe Programme to overcome them.

As a result, we conducted the study and drafted applications for further funding to overcome the identified problems. The application for additional financing aimed to include a wider range of partners from BSR countries and across Europe, depending on the funding possibility. However, the applications mostly crafted by Viimsi Municipality had a focus on implementation of actions in that region.
