The new BTH membership at Lighthouse has already given a new project to the Sustaintrans team in terms of a pre-study about what shipping would look like if there would be no fossil fuels available on year 2035. Will shipping be BAU by using biofuels or will the sector switch to a completely different business model where ships are powered by wind and electricity? The sustaintrans team and Sven Borén will contribute mainly with the expertise about backcasting, but also in other research-related activities in the project.
