We are Hiring: New PhD student position to the Groundbreaking Roadmapper Project!

We are finally staffing up for the new Roadmapper project! A new PhD student position (Doktorand i strategisk hållbar utveckling) has been announced at the BTH website.  Applicants should be strong in sustainability and systems dynamics and modeling. They should also have a good command of English and Swedish. There are more requirements but relative weakness in any of the mentioned areas might be compensated by strength in other areas.

PhD student in strategic sustainable development

Job description:
The position mainly comprises doctoral studies in strategic sustainable development with a focus on systems analysis/dynamics and sustainable transport system development. This includes among other things participation in research projects in collaboration with external partners, publication of results in scientific forums, project design and application for funding, and participation in doctoral courses. The employment also includes some participation in other tasks at the department, such as teaching. The proportions between the different tasks may vary.

Required Competence:
For admission to doctoral employment, it is required that the applicant is or will be admitted to postgraduate education. Eligible for admission to postgraduate education is those who have completed a degree at the advanced level, completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at advanced level, or at in any other way within or outside the country acquired substantially corresponding knowledge (Chapter 7, Section 39 in the Higher Education Ordinance (1993: 100)). The current position applies to the first part of the doctoral program (i.e. to the licentiate degree).

Meriting skills and experience:

  • Previous higher education in the environmental field, preferably in strategic sustainable development and sustainable transport system development, or equivalent.
  • Documented experience of systems analysis/dynamics.
  • Documented experience of collaboration with partners in industry and / or society, preferably with a focus on sustainable transport system development.
  • Documented experience of pedagogical work.
  • Good proficiency in oral and written English and Swedish.
  • Experience of applying for project funding
