BTH has recently arranged a kick-off in the profile project Human-Centered Intelligent Realities. During two days, BTH and companies met to discuss the various themes and subprojects included in the project.
Last year, BTH received the gratifying news that the KK Foundation is investing funds for a new research project in Computer Science at BTH. At the center of the research is the development of new, smart digital environments and the vision of virtual and inclusive environments, so-called intelligent realities.
– Intelligent realities are a concept that has grown in recent years and the need for smart digital environments has increased above all during the pandemic and to meet aspects of sustainability in the form of less travel. We see that with increased digitization we will work even more with these different concepts within intelligent realities, says Veronica Sundstedt, Associate Professor in computer science and the one who leads the initiative.
Recently, it was time to kick-off the project. On-site from BTH were Head of Department of Computer Science Bo Peterson and Project Leader Veronica Sundstedt with colleagues. For the external partners, Blackdrop Interactive, Ericsson, IKEA Marketing & Communication, Noda, Spotify, and Virotea participated.
Among other things, a workshop was held around the various themes included in the project:
New methods for experience assessment
New virtual environments and interaction techniques
Visual data analysis
Adaptive and distributed AI
Network technology
Facts about the project:
• Projects financed by the KK Foundation, BTH and external industry partners
• Extends over six years
• Consists of five interconnected strategic research areas
