The 30th Annual Workshop of the Swedish AI Society, SAIS 2017, will be held at BTH on May 15-16. One of the keynote presentations is free and open to attend by staff, students, and the general public.

Professor Niklas Lavesson is the local chair for the workshop. The purpose of SAIS is to create a social event and meeting place for academics and professionals who study or apply methods and tools from artificial intelligence. In this year’s workshop, three distinguished scientists will give keynote presentations about their current research. Public lecture

Tina Eliassi-Rad is associate professor of computer science at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Her research is within data mining and machine learning, and their application. The public lecture will address her own current research as well as the initiative Women in Machine Learning, which seeks to create a platform for women in computer science and machine learning and to increase the number of women who study and conduct research within machine learning. The public lecture will be given in English.

The seating is limited for the public lecture. Hence, we ask you to apply for a seat via e-mail to sais2017@bth.se before May 10. Use “open lecture” as the subject line and provide us with your full name in the e-mail body. We recommend that those who apply for a seat show up at least 10-15 minutes before the lecture, outside the multi room in building J.
